Mercazaragoza, the agrifood logistics platform of the Ebro valley, received over 1.9 million vehicles in 2017

The Zaragoza’s agrifood logistics platform Mercazaragoza received 1,927,000 vehicles in 2017, an average of 5,282 vehicles per day. Wholesale activity (fruit, vegetables, fish) reached more than 130,000 tons in 2017, according to the platform’s annual report.

The Maritime Terminal of Zaragoza (TMZ),

located in Mercazaragoza, operated a total of 2,438 trains last year, representing an increase of 18% over the previous year, which has been reflected in the corresponding increase in the number of containers transported.

The platform is currently building its new pig slaughterhouse, which will be ready in 2019. This complex will reinforce exports to China, a country that requires not to sacrifice pigs, sheep and cows in the same space. The facilities will involve an investment of more than six million and will re-launch the weight of the pig sector in Aragón.

A total 150 companies with 4,000 employees dedicated to agrifood production, processing and logistics use Mercazaragoza, the leading logistics platform of the industry in the Ebro valley in Northeastern Spain.
